2015

In my first ‘proper’ job after university, I was tasked with growing the social media presence of big-name brands like Canon, Disney, and Quorn. Instagram was still unchartered territory for most. There was no such thing as Stories and collage grids (remember those?) were all the rage. This is where I decided to set myself a challenge. Could I grow my own social media account to the same success I’d achieved for others? The Doors of London was born.

The Doors of London Bella Foxwell

2015-2019

Over the course of 3+ years of daily posting on Instagram, the Doors of London was featured in lots of press, I attended numerous events (and made friends with the wonderful Insta community), and the Doors were even turned into their very own puzzle! People kept asking me if I could help them grow online too and so, while still working a full-time job, I built my side hustle as a social media consultant. In December 2019, a few months before the world changed, I quit my 9-5 and jumped feet first into the world of self-employment.

2020-2022

If you can survive the first two years of self-employment and a global pandemic, you can survive (business-wise) pretty much anything. During this strange time I helped many small business owners with Instagram strategy through weekly YouTube videos, 1:1 coaching, and my (now retired) online course, Instagram Planning Pro. I hosted group workshops with amazing organisations including The Prince’s Trust and the Royal College of Art. Over the course of two years I helped hundreds of people leverage their Instagram accounts to generate more leads, enquiries, and sales.

2023-now

Today, I’m as passionate as ever about helping business owners use social media and email marketing to grow. I do this through 1:1 strategy sessions, group workshops, and monthly retainers. Working closely with business owners as their marketing partner, advising on strategy and executing the plan is my favourite way to work.
